How to Boot a Torn Tire

Booting a tire with a nutrition wrapper.

Tubeless sealant does a good job of filling many punctures, but not all! Larger holes and tears will require you to run a tube so you can continue your ride (be sure to always carry a tube). You’ll want to cover the hole with something sturdy to protect the newly installed tube. Use a dollar bill or the wrapper from your trail snack to cover the hole before placing the tube inside the tire. This trick will keep you riding and get you home!
