Hard to believe that the popular SPD pedal system has been around since 1990! To celebrate the SPD 25th Anniversary, Shimano has unveiled a special, limited-edition blue pedal to commemorate the event.
The new blue Shimano PD-M990 XC pedal (top photo, MSRP is $149.99) and Shimano PD-M995 Trail pedal (lower photo, MSRP is $154.99) correspond with Shimano's top-grade XTR mountain bike group. These pedals offer improved foot stability with a wider pedal platform, and a thinner axle provides increased mud shedding.
These are in extremely limited quantities, so get yours soon before they're gone!
The Surly Dirt Wizard 29er version features an aggressive tread focused on traction and control in loose and varied terrain, with beveled leading edge dual row knobs in the center and well-spaced, siped edge knobs to dig into loose corners. MSRP is $90.
This massive 29er tire is in the same vein as a Maxxis High Roller or Minion. It dwarfs the Nobby Nic by comparison, as can be seen in the photo.
The Surly Dirt Wizard also comes in a 26+ size version...not currently in stock.
